Information on Iowa's Individual Assistance Grant Program

The Iowa Disaster Individual Assistance Grant Program provides grants to individuals as reimbursement for expenditures incurred related to the disaster event.  The individual reimbursement grant is capped at $5,000.00 per household.

To be eligible for assistance, an individual must have a self-declared annual income that is less than 200 percent of the federal poverty guideline.

For 2011, 200% of federal poverty is as follows:

Item listed above are not eligible for grant assistance if the applicant’s insurance will cover the claims or if the applicant has received assistance for the same claimed items from other programs to include but not limited to a non-profit charitable organization, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, or Small Business Administration.
