 Drug Arrests 09/20/09
On 09/20/09, at approximately 3:35 PM, the Dickinson County Sheriff's Office was dispatched
to the 2100 block of 160th Avenue reference a suspicious vehicle that was on private property.
While investigating, a marijuana-like substance was observed in the interior of the vehicle. A
subsequent search occurred and approximately 66 pounds of unprocessed marijuana plants
were discovered in the vehicle.
The Dickinson County Sheriff's Office arrested Joseph Lee Bates, 35, of Shelby, Michigan and
Christopher Allen Bates, 23, of Muskegon, Michigan. Each were charged with Possession of a
Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver, Manufacture of a Controlled Substance, Conspiracy
to Deliver a Controlled Substance, and Drug Tax Stamp Violation, all Class "D" Felonies. They
were also charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor.
In the course of a follow-up investigation, the Dickinson County Sheriff's Office arrested Michele
Denise Arnold-Wolcott, 48, of Muskegon, Michigan. She was charged with Conspiracy to
Manufacture Controlled Substance, a Class "D" Felony.
The Dickinson County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Milford Police Department and the
Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement.
