Charges filed in snowmobile accident
DCSO filed charges on a snowmobile accident that occurred on December 16, 2009. The original call was for a snowmobile accident east of Spirit Lake in the Hwy 9 right of way. The involved parties were unknown at the time. Asking for the public's help, DCSO conducted an investigation which led to the following:
Two snowmobiles were driven westbound in the Hwy 9/71 right of way east of Spirit Lake. The lead snowmobile, a 1998 SkiDoo, was driven by Travis Miner (28) of Emmetsburg. Miner's passenger, Ashley Reynolds (31) of Emmetsburg, fell off of the snowmobile. Reynolds was run over by the second snowmobile, a 2006 Arctic Cat, driven by Nicholas Glover (30) of Milford. There was no damage to either snowmobile.
A passerby drove Reynolds to the Lakes Regional Healthcare Hospital in Spirit Lake and she was then flown to McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls with incapacitating injuries.
Miner is charged with: Reckless Driving Failure to report an accident Driving while barred
Glover is charged with: Failure to report an accident Driving while barred
All persons are innocent until proven guilty
